The demands of the globalization era have placed information as a very influencing resource. This globalization context is also unavoidable in the development of the national education policy that must be understood by university students, abroad scholars and Indonesian society in Thailand.
With the increasing number of university students, Indonesian scholars in Thailand and other ASEAN countries, the Division of the Attaché of Education at the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, endeavors to provide actual services, administration, and consultation in the field of education as best as possible. The administration services include the report of the carrying out of the duty of students, scholars in Thailand, and Indonesian society, reporting students’ progress and the accomplishment of their study in Thailand
To respond to the globalization challenge and prepare for the ASEAN Community in the year of 2015, the site atdikbangkok.com is aimed at supporting the official site of the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, kbri-bangkok.com, that provides education information for the society, university students, and Indonesian scholars in Thailand, that is later on able to give positive contributions in changing the behavior of people’s development that is filled with science, technology, and arts.

Hasil Workshop Depdiknas dan Deplu tentang Sekolah Indonesia Luar Negeri dan Lomba Apresiasi, Yogja
Hasil Kegiatan Workshop Depdiknas dan Deplu tentang Sekolah Indonesia Luar Negeri (SILN) tgl 6 Nopember 2008 dan Lomba Apresiasi dan Kreasi SILN se Dunia di Yogjakarta, 2 - 8 November 2008, adalah sebagai berikut:
Workshop dihadiri oleh 14 Kepala Sekolah Indonesia Luar negeri (SILN) se Dunia, Atase Pendidikan yang hadir dari Negara Thailand, Arab Saudi, Malaysia serta Jepang, Kepala Sekolah Rintisan Bertaraf Internasional (SRBI), Kepala Sekolah Bertaraf Internasional (SBI), Kepala Sekolah Internasional, pejabat dari Mandikdasmen, Biro Perencanaan dan Kerjasama Luar Negeri, Depdiknas serta pejabat dari Pusdiklat Departemen Luar Negeri.
Tujuan dari Workshop Sekolah Indonesia Luar Negeri, Rintisan Sekolah Bertaraf Internasional, Sekolah Internasional atau Berakses Internasional antara Depdiknas dan Deplu untuk (a) meningkatkan kerjasama pengembangan SILN dengan mengakomodir muatan Indonesia dan Internasional, (b) memberikan kesempatan kepada RSBI untuk mencari benchmarking dengan SILN, (c) melakukan penyesuaian kurikulum nasional bagi RSBI dan kurikulum internasional dengan menjalin kerjasama dengan sekolah internasional di Indonesia, (d) memberikan peluang kepada SILN dan RSBI untuk mengadopsi kurikulum asing beserta assessmentnya.
Perlu dilakukan secepatnya koordinasi dan SINERGI antara Depdiknas dan Deplu untuk mensinergikan bersama guna merumuskan kelanjutan SILN yang dikehendaki bersama serta pembahasan peninjauan kembali Surat Keputusan Bersama (SKB) antara Menlu dan Mendikbud, No. 191 tahun 1981, mengenai Pedoman Penyelenggaraan Sekolah Indonesia di Luar Negeri (SILN).

AT HASANUDDIN UNIVERSITY, MAKASSAR, 17-18 NOVEMBER 2008
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Thailand, Council of Rector of Indonesia University (CRISU) and Council of University President of Thailand (CUPT) will hold a two-day conference of rectors of universities from Indonesia and Thailand at Hasanuddin University, Makassar South of Sulawesi, on 17-18 November 2008. Representatives from state and private universities from Indonesia and universities from Thailand will participate in the conference.
The purpose of this conference is to address the need to enhance cooperation between Indonesian and Thai universities particularly in the field of education, research, science, and technology for the achievement to the world university rank. Three topics will be discussed in the conference; firstly, the Food Crisis; secondly, the Energy Crisis; and lastly, the Global Warming. The conference is expected to produce a joint statement which is stipulated to set up joint programs or projects that will be carried out in the upcoming years.
The conference will be open by Minister of National Education of Indonesia (MoNE), and the remark will be addressed by H.E. Mr. Mohammad Hatta, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Thailand on 17 November 2008 at 19.00 and will be continued with remarks by H.E. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Indonesia. On 18 November 2008 two Keynote speakers will deliver their speech by Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of National Education of Indonesia and the Secretary General of ASEAN in Jakarta.
The conference will be attended by representatives from state and private universities from Indonesia and Universities from Thailand, high ranking officials from the Ministry of Education of both countries, and the ASEAN secretariat in Jakarta.
